The responsibility of the Worship & Tech-Arts Administrator is to be in direct alignment with the vision and goals of the ministry and should have a clear calling and desire to serve in a ministry setting.

Summary of the Job:

The worship and tech-arts administrator (WTA), reporting to the Executive Pastor, maintains oversight, management, and coordination of all audio video and lighting (AVL) technical operations that support TWC worship services and events in all campuses and spaces.  The main responsibilities of the WTA include coordination of AVL needs with facilities, media, and worship to produce excellent high-level worship services and events. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Technical Direction Responsibilities

  • Oversight assistance of Audio, Video, and Lighting (AVL) infrastructure with production manager and media director
  • Setting and enforcing safe-use guidelines for AVL equipment
  • Routinely performing (or delegating) preventative maintenance on AVL systems
  • Purchasing new AVL equipment and replacing failing equipment as needed
  • Keeping an inventory of the TWC’s technical supplies
  • Overseeing and assisting load-in/load-out process when applicable
  • Acting as the last line of defense for technical problems
  • Advising production manager, directors, and designers on feasibility, cost, and equipment capabilities
  • Turning designer's sketches into technical drafts used by carpenters

Project Coordination Responsibilities:

  • Training all AVL technical staff
  • Scheduling and leading AVL meetings and regular check-ins with different departments as required
  • Consulting with media director and production manager on scheduling technical staff for events or performances
  • Setting project deadlines
  • Creating and implementing budgets 
  • Acting as the technical point of contact for renters and outside productions

Worship Production Responsibilities:

  • Ensure worship production technologies (computer, software, hardware) are compliant
  • Stage design consultation
  • Attending weekly creative meetings to provide technical and creative insight
  • Provide technical assistance to worship department creative efforts
  • Preparing sheet music
  • Conducting Orchestra
  • Providing creative assistance as needed in music and drama direction
  • Produce an audio/visual worship environment to promote worship by working closely with the Executive Pastor.

        Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Provide influence leadership, discipleship, and management to assigned employees and volunteers in the department.
  • Building teams through training and developing of employees and volunteers in the department.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Arts Degree or Masters of Arts Degree in a related area.
  • 5 years or more experience in Worship Arts production within a sizable church membership of 1500 congregants or more.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in the disciplines of live sound reinforcement mixing for music and speech, broadcast video systems, professional lighting system design and operation and video recording and presentation, required.
  • Must be able to develop an excitement for the technical ministry, required.
  • Strong execution focus and attention to detail, required.
  • Strong work ethic, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively, required.
  • Strong Project Management skills and Budget management skills, preferred.
  • Highly developed communication skills; articulate verbally and in writing; ability to synthesize information into well summarized documentation and presentations, required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
