Position Objective
In collaboration with the Vice President, Programs and the Program ministries team, the Neighborhood Day Camp Director is responsible for the development and implementation of a weekly summer day camp program that would travel to different locations executing an excellent, Christ-centered camp experience in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values. .
Key Job Accountabilities
Work closely with VP, Programs to create and develop all aspects of a successful traveling day camp program including, but not limited to, all aspects of activity and curriculum development as well as budgeting, creating systems to support camper registration, hiring of support staff, and all safety and security issues while at different locations.
Serve as the primary lead in cultivating and securing church partners that would want to host the neighborhood day camp program at their location including, but not limited to, making initial contacts with churches and ministry partners all the way through the contracting process.
Facilitate hiring all summer support staff and counselors necessary to support the activities of the neighborhood day camp program.
Travel throughout the summer ensuring neighborhood day camps are implemented with excellence, as well as working to strengthen relationships with partner churches and ministries who are hosting the day camp program.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Responsible for supervising all summer staff hired to support the traveling day camp program.
Education
Work Experience
Experiencing leading and supervising others preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven organizational skills and ability to lead others
Must be a self-starter with an ability to see things through to completion.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in a professional manner.
Ability to develop programs, event themes, curriculum and prop/set design.
Physical Demands
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Position requires walking, and climbing up/down stairs and ladders. Additional requirements include sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, pushing and pulling, hearing, and grasping.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. is required.
