True Life Community Church in Troy, Ohio seeks a full-time Youth Pastor to join our team. The Youth Pastor is first an advocate for the young (Children and Students) in their faith journey. Also, positioned to provide guidance to parents because they are in the greatest position to influence their children.
The areas of responsibility will be oversight & development of programs and discipleship systems from cradle to college and to their parents. The Pastor will work closely with the Lead Pastor and adult discipleship leaders to ensure that parents are prepared to lead their children and that young people have spiritual mentors when their parent(s) cannot be the model. The Youth Pastor would also develop relational, engaging ministries to children and youth, ensure that the curriculum used at each level of spiritual development connects to the next, keep ministry leaders connected to the homes so parents experience a clear partnership in the discipleship of their children, as well as expound a vision that leads to a focus on teaching Bible knowledge and demonstrating living Christian faith through the relational interaction between pastor, leaders and the young.
The Youth Pastor would be supported by the leaders in nursery, preschool, elementary, middle and high school ministries. By solidifying our student-based programming and incorporating a multigenerational approach, TLC will be able to offer a cohesive environment that complements both church and home learning. It is important to encourage intergenerational connections that help students and adults recognize how God is working in the whole family of God. This position will facilitate strong bonds within families and connect them with other families in the community.
Necessary Knowledge and Skills:
Strong planning skills with organizational emphasis. Management and leadership abilities with demonstrated advanced oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of youth educational medium, literature and teaching methods. Planning, leadership, and teacher training skills are essential. Must have the ability to relate to and effectively lead staff and volunteer workers and must have a pleasant and understanding attitude in dealing with partners of the congregation. Individual talents and interests will also be welcomed as an asset to the team and other ministries.
Basic Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Christian college with an emphasis in youth ministry or Christian education. Previous ministry exposure combined with three years’ experience is preferred.

Salary Range:
$38,000 - $45,000 with benefits based on experience.
