Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries
Highland United Methodist Church has a staff opening for a full-time Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries beginning February 1, 2019. 1) This position is for a gifted leader capable of bringing the churched and un-churched youth in our community closer to God by following the examples of Jesus Christ. You will lead, develop, and manage ministry programs (weekly, monthly, quarterly). The Director of Youth Ministry will be proficient in organizing, communicating with, and leading our youth, parents, and recruiting adult volunteers. This person will also be a relational person who spends much of their time outside the four walls of the church with our youth. The ideal candidate will exhibit a spiritual focus, a dynamic personality, an ability to direct and relate well with a variety of ages, and the desire to grow the youth ministry at the church. Planning and working collaboratively with the Pastor, staff, other ministry leaders, parents and volunteers is a vital part of this position.
We currently have no real official ministry to Young adults. 2) This new staff member will be responsible for establishing a new ministry to young adults (formal and informal studies, gatherings, experiences, etc.). An exciting opportunity to be on the “ground floor” of creating a place for young adults (post high school – early 30’s) to connect with God and one another and become active in the leadership and service of the local church. Creativity and “out of the box” thinking is encouraged.
College degree and experience preferred. Salary commensurate with experience and education. If necessary, we could discuss possibilities of part-time employment as opposed to full-time.
