About East Side Grace Brethren Church

From its inception, East Side Grace Brethren Church (ESGB) has been committed to the Bible as God’s word to us. From our very first worship service, the Bible has been central to our worship and church life. ESGB has also been committed to missions from her beginning. From our first missionaries who served in Indonesia, we now support missionaries around the world. We believe our best days are ahead of us. A new generation of Christians is emerging in our church who, like the founders of our church, desire to see God honored in the ministry of our church. We also dream of sending out missionaries who were raised up to be leaders in our church. Our desire is to see churches multiplied in Columbus and in other parts of the world. Our Sunday worship service attendance averages around 650 people. We have a high view of God and the glory of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. As stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 5:17 and Titus 1, we agree that Christ wills that the church be led by a plurality of qualified men called elders, which include the Senior Pastor and other pastors, who shepherd the local church by leading, feeding and overseeing the flock. We also believe that all congregants should seek and be equipped to exercise their spiritual gifts for the benefit of Christ’s Church. As a functioning Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, we believe that the means by which we make more and better disciples of Christ must be Christ centered and Spirit saturated. Therefore, we are committed to the expository preaching of God’s Word, intercessory prayer, and sacrificial love manifested in community.
