Full Time / Reports to Executive Pastor

Position Job Summary: Build teams and lead initiatives that connect students to God, Freedom and each other.

What You Will Do (Specific Job Responsibilities):

  • Be the primary visionary for the youth ministry at Freedom Church
  • Plan and implement a thriving night of fun, worship, teaching and encouragement for students grades 6-12th grade.
  • Build and develop a strong adult volunteer team that sets an example for the youth and work together to implement the vision of the youth ministry.
  • Build and develop a student leadership team that provides feedback to the youth pastor and help take ownership of a ministry designed to reach their peers.
  • Envision, plan and implement regular outreach events that draw in the unchurched.
  • Plan and implement missions opportunities for the youth to use their gifts to share Jesus with others.
  • Plan and implement retreats and camps that promote life change and unity in the youth ministry.
  • Dream, envision and develop other initiatives the promote connecting and spiritual development within students grade 6-12th grade
  • Be a resource to parents of students in support of them raising their child(ren) and pointing them to Jesus.
  • Oversee and give input into the young adult gatherings and groups.

What Skills You Will Need (Qualifications):

  • Spiritually mature while continuing to grow in their faith and experiences with God
  • A strong people person that easily connects with students and their parents.
  • Experience in leadership development
  • 3+ years in youth ministry experience and/or Ministry or Bible degree from an accredited school
  • Be in agreement with Freedom’s statement of faith
  • Creative in design and imagery to help promote visually the ways students can connect, preferably able to use Adobe Suite to assist in promotion of initiatives being led.
