Full Time, Pastoral Staff, Reporting to the Senior Pastor
The Executive Director of Ministries (EDM), under the direction of the Senior Pastor, will provide leadership to Departments of Discipleship; be responsible to develop leaders according to their spiritual gifts to meet the needs of the congregation. The
position is responsible for ensuring each ministry has a winnable strategy, clear goals, is identifying and solving problems, achieves its purpose and ultimately develop disciples.
Responsible for Online Church, Membership and Christian Education enhances the mission of Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church (MZPMBC) by assisting in the education, development and retention of its membership through purposeful leadership of
all educational ministries of the church, including the Bible Institute. Moreover, this position requires a special focus on identifying and implementing effective processes and procedures that initiate new converts and prospective members into the early stages
of the spiritual formation process and integrate them as a member of the church.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to all ministries to include the development and oversight for ministries and their programs
- Recruit, train and develop servant leaders for Ministry
- Plan and coordinate, in consultation with the Senior Pastor, a Bible-based program of study, including weekly Bible Study
- Oversee, develop and implement curriculum for the Bible Institute
- Order curriculum and other materials, as needed
- Oversee annual Vacation Bible School program for members of all ages
- Provide insight to the Senior Pastor and other ministers on relevant biblical application of current issues of the congregation
- Serve as primary liaison between the Family Touch Team and the executive leadership team
- Maintain monthly reports regarding the increase or decrease of the membership and provide reports to the Senior Pastor
- Send welcome letters to all new members and visitors in a timely manner
- Follow-up with members to determine if they are actively participating in a small group or serving opportunity
- Attend Sunday worship services at MZPMBC and encourage others to do the same
- Attend regular staff meetings
- Implement church policies and procedures under the direction of the Senior Pastor
- Help ministries develop short-term and longer-term goals and objectives
- Proficiency in problem solving and conflict resolution
- Build, maintain, and foster external relationships
- Oversee a comprehensive ministry of fellowship and discipleship for all church members and regular attendees
- Oversee the development of existing and new developed ministry programs and evaluate their effectiveness
- Oversee the Ministry Division budgets and promotion of All Ministries in the Division
- General Ministerial Responsibilities (Teaching, Preaching, Counsel, and care) as needed
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Pastor

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Masters of divinity or above is preferred
- Degree or coursework in Christian studies is preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in ministry or church vocational work
- Strong interpersonal skills-ability to communicate persuasively and compassionately, both orally and in writing
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word & Excel
- Experience in organizing multiple projects and events
- Highly organized; flexible
- Exemplary oral & written skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Working knowledge of social media & platforms used in spreading the Gospel
