Our three Sunday services are filled with worship that is impactful and God honoring followed by messages grounded in God’s Word and applicable for daily life. In conjunction with the adult Sunday services, the children’s department has a designated space for age-appropriate worship and teaching. We are a church active in the community and passionate to be part of God’s life-changing work.
Children and Family Pastor/Director:
The Children and Family Pastor/Director will lead, plan, execute, and oversee the ministry to children from birth through 5th grade. This person will partner with parents to help lay a spiritual foundation for their children. This person will also lead a team of volunteers to execute each part of the Children and Family Ministry.
This person will oversee
- Sunday morning children’s church
- Wacky Wednesday for kids
- Elementary School outreach
- Summer camp (on campus) for children
- Pastoral support of families
- Other church-wide related duties
This person must be a committed follower of Christ. This person must exemplify Christ-like character with the ability to teach, model, and oversee ministry to parents, leaders, and children. This person must adhere to a high standard of moral conduct as outlined in the personnel manual of CenterPointe Church. This person must support and model the Mission and Values of CenterPointe Church.
Responsibilities Include:
- As a member of the church staff, this person will attend weekly meetings, help with the execute strategy and communication with the staff.
- This person will disciple adults and so empower them to disciple children.
- Provide strategic methods for the development of ministry teams and volunteers.
- Recruit workers and teachers to serve in all areas of children and preschool ministries.
- Coordinate regular planning, training, and equipping opportunities for volunteers.
- Prepare and maintain an annual budget for Children and Family Ministry and for other associated ministries.
- Plan and implement a summer activity schedule including a summer camp for kids.
- Maintain and expand CenterPointe’s outreach into area elementary schools through school assemblies (presently using Orange).
- Meet regularly with leadership of the Children and Family Ministries for the purpose of casting vision, supporting, and developing leadership development within the Children and Family Ministries.
- Provide direction for CenterPointe’s Foster Care Ministry.
- Maintain the safety and security of all ministry areas involving children.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive or Lead Pastor.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Seminary degree (MDiv or Christian Education), a plus
- Prefer 3 years prior experience in children’s ministry
- Commitment to leadership development of both adults and children
- Experience in recruiting and equipping volunteers and working with teams
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A working understanding of social media, technology, and media.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
- Ability to organize and coordinate work, set priorities, delegate, build consensus, manage time, and meet deadlines
- Ability to equip leaders through various strategies
- Ability to maintain order and resolve behavioral issues in a Christ-like manner
- On-going student of children’s culture, current with children’s trends and resources
- Gifted teacher and communicator of God’s Word to children, parents, and leaders

- Passionate calling to Children and Family Ministry and a desire to see children come to Christ
- Desire to help parents raise healthy, well-balanced, Christ-following children
- Promotes a “team” mentality and exhibits genuine care of fellow staff members
- Relational approach to ministry and a desire to work with other ministry areas within the church
- Seeks continual personal and professional growth as a Christ-follower and Pastor/Director of Children and Family Ministry
